This week in Accessories

Necklace - Ebay

I wear this necklace all the time, I always browse Ebay for new chokers and it's full of these velvet ones. I went for the moon because it isn't too over the top and can be worn with pretty much anything and isn't so intricate that you can't tell what it is, which I find with some charms. It cost me about £4-5 with postage but theres just nowhere on the high street that does this simple style

Sunglasses - Topshop unique

I bought these sunglasses a few years ago because I love the John Lennon style round glasses and thought these were a bit different because of the frame so I didn't mind spending over £20 for them (which is a lot for me the spend on glasses)

Velvet hair bow and Hello Kitty hairbands - The little bag company

I saw these while shopping for a mother's day gift and couldn't resist them. I have to have my hair up for work and I get bored with the same style everyday so new cute hair accessories is always welcome. They came to £2-something in total so I was pleased

Week round up

Shirt - Primark; Shorts - River Island; Cardigan - Jaeger london

Outfit - All River Island

This was my outfit for a job interview last Monday. I'm not keen the usual white shirt, black skirt/trousers and blazer look so I wore my smart satin river island shorts I bought in the sale for £15 (they arn't avaliable online anymore) and teamed it originally with the matching shirt but decided it looked too "done" and changed my mind. I realised I don't actually own a smart jacket so I added my cardigan from Jaeger I got for £3.50 in a charity shop.

Dress - Primark

I couldnt resist this dress, I've seen loads similar and because of the boob situation they just wont fit me properly, so im really pleased I found this in Primark. I couldn't get a full body pic but it really is just a straight A-line shape skirt shift dress. It is see through but I put black tights on and just accepted it, better than visible pants.

Weekend outfits

Top -Asos; Lipstick - Illamasqua in "Liv"; Nails - Nails inc (dont know the colour) and Illamasqua in "Harsh"

Im Loving pastel colours at the moment and Im a big fan of an oversize top, so I had to get this one from Asos. I already had my nails like this so I decided to match my lips to my nails and top aswell. Thought it looked quite cute. Rest of my outfit was boring, leather look leggings and doc shoes, hense why I didn't photograph it.

Top - Ladymuckvintage ; Necklace - Rock n Rose; Socks - Primark ; Shoes - Dr Martens

I've worn this necklace constantly since I bought it. Wish I could actually afford Rock n rose jewellery without feeling guilty for spending so much, but considering I've worn this so much I think it's worth the investment, I'm just awful and have a habit of losing things. This shirt is actually a man's one, just prefer the slouchy fit to womens ones. Only cost me £13 in my local vintage shop, it's a beautiful silky material so perfect for summer too, nice and lightweight. I got these docs for my birthday and I've worn them so much.

Top - Primark ; Necklace - Primark

Ok really boring outfit here, I literally wore a primark necklace, top, belt and skirt. Don;t think you would know it's primark unless you worked there like me. Just love the flocked velvet top. I did put a bralet vest underneath because unfortunately I'm not blessed with a flat chest.

Top - H&M ; Skirt - Primark ; Kimono - Primark

Ok awful picture but you get the idea. This faux leather baby blue skirt was only £10 in primark! I couldn't leave it there, Unfortunately I got it a bit big but I'll still wear it, rather be too big than small. This kimono is my go to piece when it's sunny because I hate my shoulders and arms and the french bulldog top just went so well with the baby blue (I think anyway) so I wore this to go out with mum for a cider or 2.

Feb Glossybox

Left-Right; Nougat London sparkling body shimmer ; Ciate nail varinish in "red hot chilli" ; Maybelline Colour sensational nudes lipstick in "757 naked brown" ; Eldora eyelashes ; Toni & Guy stick it up gum

Maybelline colour sensational nudes lipstick "757 naked brown"
Ok so I'm aware the lighting is awful but you get the idea. It actually appears more of a dark red than a brown, but its still dark and wearable so personally, I'm happy with it. I have used Maybelline colour sensational lipsticks before and I find you do need to use "lipcote" as they come off quite easily but the range of colours are probably one of the best in "drugstore" brands.

Ciate nail varnish in "red hot chilli"
I've wanted to try ciate varnishes for a while but at £9ish each I couldnt justify it so im really pleased I got this brand and colour in my box. It doesn't disappoint. It went on so well, has a lovely consistency to it, dried quickly and is incredibly easy to use and not make a mess with. I'm definately going to use this brand more.

Now im not going to take a picture of the body shimmer because I wont use it unless I'm going out, so more of a weekend thing for me. Same with the eyelashes, I can say that the eyelashes feel beautiful and I cant wait to use them when I go out next. As for the toni and guy, it says on the tub that you can use it for smoothing and for volume so I'll probably try it for plaits or volume when im going out and have to do a post another day about it. I just dont want to test them now and waste them and not be able to use them on the weekend.

Weekend before valentines

Velvet hair scrunchie - The little bag company ; Lipstick - Barry m "37 Black" ; Dress - Motel Rocks ; Heart print tights - Primark ; Shoes - River island ; Eyelashes - Ebay

So I've recently got really into experimenting with makeup and was dying to try a black lipstick and I missed the Illamasqa £5 sale so I popped into Superdrug and picked up a Barry M one. If I wear it alot I'll probably buy the Illamasqua one but the Barry M is good, just not got the staying power a Illamasqua lipstick has, i had to reapply during the night at leats 3 times.
I've also started scraping half my hair up in a scrunchie. I don't have a fringe so it gets in my way and it's a nice way to cheat having volume.
My Motel dress is the perfect shift, can be dressed up girly or grunged up. It's sold out now but underneath the pictures above the link for the dresses are the long sleeved and slight skater skirt version of my dress, all in the sale too, so even better :)
I went for patterned tights because with the mesh sleeves I didn't want my legs to match, think it sometimes looks a bit wierd. I know you cant see my shoes but I searched them on River Island and they're in the sale so I had to add the link!

January compilation

Ok so I've been mega busy this Jan with work, birthdays etc and I dont wanna do lots of little posts so I'll just do a little compilation of what I've been upto/wearing/buying

Hair chalk - Ebay

I bought this hair chalk just as the new loreal chalks lauched but couldn't justify spending £15, these were only £3 from ebay.
You do have to wet the hair before uing these, and it does damage and dry the hair out. I probably won't use them again since my hair is dip dyed and I don't want the blonde to get too damaged. But for £3 I'm pleased I tried them.

Shoe - Topshop @ Next2nowt.com

I wanted these "geek" shoes for ages, but they're so expensive at the moment and I saw my size on Next2nowt and couldn't resist them (all sold out now) I've only worn them twice so far because of the rain, but they're so comfy. Exactly what I expect from Topshop shoes. Thanks to this website though I refuse to pay full price for shoes in Topshop without checking Next2nowt first.

Midi rings - Rock n Rose

This is actually my first purchase from Rock n Rose, even though I lust over their jewellery all the time it's just too expensive for me since I tend to misplace a lot. But these rings are in the sale for £9 and I had a 50% sale items code from their instagram so I could buy them without feeling guilty. I also picked up the "Pixie lott 'HOLLY'" necklace. Theres more I want but I managed to be good and only buy 2 items

Nail varnish - Illamasqua in "Harsh"

Over Christmas I've become obsessed with Illamasqua makeup, their foundation works beautifully on my skin, since trying their lipsticks I wont buy from anywhere else and their nail varnish is just as impressive. I managed to bag this varnish in the sale for £5 which is amazing seeing as it's back up to £16.50, just wish I'd bought more in the sale.
In this picture I only have one coat on and it's lasted me over a week. This shade is matte enough to wear on its' own but would also look beautiful as a top coat, im dying to try it with a nude and "Harsh" on the tips. Totally worth the £16.50 if you can find a shade you're going to use alot.

So that's what I've bought in January that's worth mentioning but not big enough to have their own posts :)

September Glossy and Birch boxes

So first up is the Glossybox. The theme was "british" so I didn't know what brands to expect to the honest. Im so happy with the eylure pre glued lashes. I've used eylure since I was about 16 and they're still my fav "high street" lashes, but I do hate applying the glue so I'm excited to see how the pre glued lashes fare.
The second item is the Toni and Guy shine gloss serum. In the leaflet it says it tames and shines frizzy hair. To be honest I could have done with this during summer, not winter. My hair doesn't tend to go frizzy around this time of year so I don't know how much I'd use this. My mum "suffers" from frizz so I'll probably give it to her.
Next up is the Elizabeth arden perfume "untold" I don't really like getting perfume samples but it does come in a cute little bottle and smells quite nice. I'd just rather more make up.
Third is the HD brows blusher. I've wanted to try this brand for a while and I didn't realise they did blushers, I used it today for work and it stayed put, looks gorgous on (I was lucky to get one that suits my skin tone) and a little went a long way. As I say, I'm lucky I got a dark red because in winter I always swap my coral blusher for a darker one. But for a blusher that retails at £18 I wouldn't expect anything less.
The last item is a glossybox own brand eyeliner. I'm not happy with this, even on the card which states the retail price it was written in dollars, not even British. I did wear it for work though, it stayed on brilliantly but I found the pen hard to use and get even on both eyes, and I never have a problem with eyeliner. Not as impressed with this.

So from left to right. The first is a Birchbox own nail varnish in "classic red" I haven't tried this yet as I already have painted nails. But to be honest I looked in the magazine and I'm gutted I didnt get the "grunge red" because I'm abit scared of bright red, it never looks right on me.
Next is the Molton Brown body lotion. I'm always happy with a Molton Brown product. My mum swears by their products and I've been brought up using them. I can't ever buy them for full price because I have stupidly sensitive skin, so I'm always happy to recieve new skin care products to try.
Onto the Aromatherapy associates body gel. As I just said, I have sensitive skin so I'm always happy to try new things. I've never heard of this brand but I'll certainly give it a go.
This little pot of clear liquid is the Bioderma sensitive. In the magazine it says its a gentle makeup remover, which is always good for me with my awful skin. It takes off waterproof mascara too (apparently) so I'll try this soon.
Lastly is the Models Co lipstick. I got the colour "Kitty" which is a light-medium pink. I think on my skin it will look quite "nude" so a good everyday colour. I tend to use light pinks everyday and then darker plums for night, so I'll get my use out of this.

Overall I'm quite happy this month. Im thrilled with the eylure lashes and HD brows blusher. I don't think there's anything I recieved that wont get put to use. Even if I do have to give the hair serum to my mum (:
